Ingredients

  • Lean ground turkey
  • Zucchini, sliced or diced
  • Onion, finely chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Olive oil
  • Italian seasoning
  • Paprika or red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground turkey and cook 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it apart, until browned and fully cooked.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika or red pepper flakes if using.
  6. Add zucchini and cook 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but not mushy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if using and let melt slightly.
  9. Remove from heat, garnish if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the skillet so the turkey browns properly. Avoid overcooking zucchini to prevent excess moisture. Let the skillet rest briefly before serving.
