Soft, chewy peanut butter cookies rolled in sugar and topped with a sweet chocolate kiss. A nostalgic, crowd-pleasing classic perfect for holidays, cookie swaps, or everyday baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling)
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 24 chocolate kiss-style candies, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Shape dough into 1-tablespoon balls and roll each in granulated sugar.
  7. Place on baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set and tops are slightly cracked.
  9. Immediately press one chocolate candy into the center of each cookie.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Press chocolates gently to avoid cracking. Chill dough for 20 minutes if it feels too soft. Avoid overbaking to maintain a chewy texture.
