Quick Beef Stir Fry with Vegetables for Busy Nights

A fast and flavorful weeknight dinner made with tender beef, crisp vegetables, and a savory homemade stir-fry sauce, ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • Bell peppers, sliced
  • Broccoli florets
  • Carrots, thinly sliced
  • Snap peas or green beans
  • Soy sauce or tamari
  • Oyster sauce or hoisin sauce
  • Garlic, minced
  • Ginger, minced or ground
  • Sesame oil
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil or neutral cooking oil
  • Green onions (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together soy sauce, oyster or hoisin sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  3. Add beef in a single layer and cook 1 to 2 minutes per side until just browned.
  4. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
  5. Add vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry 3 to 5 minutes until crisp-tender.
  6. Return beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce.
  7. Toss everything together and cook 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce coats the beef and vegetables.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Slice beef against the grain for tenderness. Prep all ingredients before cooking and use high heat to avoid steaming. Serve immediately for best texture.
